Synapse Academy offers a quite unique way to earn while you learn, so here are a few of the questions we are asked most often, to help explain what we offer.

Q. What qualifications do I need to get into a Synapse Academy?
A. In general, we look for candidates with a minimum of 4 GCSEs. However, if you’re motivated and ambitious, we’re happy to consider you - regardless of what qualifications you’ve got.

Q. What do I wear to attend the Academy - is it really smart?
A. Synapse Academies are enjoyable places to learn; but they’re also professional environments where live work is carried out for our clients. Because of this, everyone is expected to wear office attire.

Q. What hours will I have to work?
A. We operate two work shifts – 8am to 1pm and 1pm – 6pm.

Q. What sort of jobs am I likely to get?
A. Graduates from our Academies have entered a huge variety of roles within the Customer Services sector – including those in retail, finance, healthcare and hospitality. The skills you’ll acquire are highly transferable, allowing you to move about within the sector as demand – or your ambitions – dictate.

Q. I want to go and see an Academy for myself. Is that possible?
A. All candidates invited for interview at an Academy are shown around it as part of the process. It’s a great way to see how others are acquiring the necessary skills to find work within the Customer Services sector.

Q. Will I go on Placement?
A. It isn’t our policy at Synapse to send students on placements. Sometimes our partner companies ask if a Synapse student can undertake a trial period with them before an offer of full employment is made. In this scenario, the trial will need to be agreed to by you.

Q. Will I really earn a salary?
A. You’ll be earning during your entire time at Synapse. This wage is paid to you on a monthly basis.

Q. Can Synapse help find me a permanent job?
A. Hopefully, yes. We have contacts with a range of companies who are frequently looking to recruit. By regularly liaising with this network of businesses, we help them to fill vacancies whenever they arise.
